Friday, Mar. 4

The Science of Candy — 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at McMillan Library

A class taught on the science of candy, and learning science by eating candy. McMillan Library is located at 490 E. Grand Ave. in Wisconsin Rapids.

Friday, Mar. 4 – Sunday Mar. 6

Wisconsin Rapids Home Show — Friday, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Rapids Mall.

The Central Wisconsin Home Builders Association will be cleaning house and hosting an auction, as well. There will also be prizes to be won. Admission is $3.00. The Rapids Mall is located at 220 3rd Ave. South in Wisconsin Rapids.

Saturday, Mar. 5 

South Wood County Empty Bowls — 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church

For a $10 donation, guests receive a bowl of soup, bread, beverage, desert, and a unique ceramic bowl to take home. This year’s contributors are Great Expectations, Jennings & Co., Culvers, Misty’s Menu, Ida’s Tavern and many more. 100 percent of funds raised go to helping our neighbors. Basket Raffle with lots of great gift baskets. First English Lutheran Church is located at 440 Garfield St. in Wisconsin Rapids.

Saturday, Mar. 5

Nekoosa Lions Sportsman’s Night — 5:00 p.m. at Nekoosa Senior Community Center

The Nekoosa Lions Club will hold their 22nd annual Sportsmen’s Night Banquet on Saturday. Admission is $50, which includes 6 gun raffle tickets. Other raffles and door prizes will be available the night of the event. This event will be located at 416 Crestview Ln. in Nekoosa.

Sunday, Mar. 6

Aqua Skiers Land Practice at St. Lukes Church 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The team’s third land practice of the season will take place at St. Lukes Church. The team is always looking for new members, and all visitors and questions are welcome. St. Lukes Church is located at 2011 10th St. South in Wisconsin Rapids.
