Thursday, Mar. 10
Opening Concert and Champaign Reception –“A Night at the Opera” – 7:00 p.m.
This concert will be performed at the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theater Auditorium as a a part of “ARTi Gras”. Tickets are $20, and will be performed by the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point Opera Club.
Power of the Purse – 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bulls Eye Country Club
Event will feature: hors d’oeuvres and cash bar, silent purse auction, and networking and information about United Way of Inner Wisconsin’s Women’s Leadership Council Learning for Life Initiative. Tickets are $25 per person in advance; $30 per person at the door. Advance tickets are available through March 10th at River Cities Bank, Aspirus Riverview Hospital’s Lobby Desk and United Way of Inner Wisconsin.
Friday, Mar. 11 – Sunday, Mar. 13
WRPS Children’s Theater presents: The Little Mermaid – 7:00 p.m.
The Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools Theater will perform “The Little Mermaid” at the Performing Arts Center of Wisconsin Rapids. The Performing Arts Center is located at 1801 16th St. South in Wisconsin Rapids.
Friday, Mar. 11 – Saturday, Mar. 12
“Local Vision 2016 Exhibit” Opening Reception – 5:30 p.m.
Central Wisconsin mixed media arts on display. Meet the artists over wine and appetizers. This event will take place at the Central Wisconsin Cultural Center located at 240 Johnson St. in Wisconsin Rapids.
Friday, Mar. 11 through Mar. 13
“Disco Inferno” – presented by Nekoosa High School
Nekoosa High School presents “Disco Inferno,” a musical featuring some of the greatest hits from the ’70s. There are three showings; 7 p.m. Friday, Mar. 11, 7 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 12, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 13. Nekoosa High School is located at 500 Cedar St. in Nekoosa.

John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band – 7:00 p.m.
This Grammy winner will be returning to Wisconsin Rapids to play the McMillan Library on Friday night. This show is free, and is sponsored by the Mead Witter Foundation. McMillan Library is located at 490 E. Grand Ave. in Wisconsin Rapids.
“The Vaudevillian Adventures of Boris and Sergey” – 8:00 p.m.
“England’s Favorite Puppets” are coming to Wisconsin Rapids with their show for “discerningly twisted adult audiences”. There will be an after party post-show. Tickets are $15. This event is a part of ARTi Gras, and is located inside the WRCT Auditorium, located at 220 3rd Ave. South in Wisconsin Rapids.
Saturday, Mar. 12
“The Origins of Boris and Sergey” – 11:00 a.m.
A light-hearted and family friendly version of the Vaudevillian Adventures of Boris and Sergey. Tickets are $5, and this will be performed at the WRCT Auditorium. This event is a part of ARTi Gras.
Silver Foxes: A Tribute to Erma Bombeck – 2:00 a.m.
America’s favorite housewife columnist is fondly recalled in this selection of some of her wittiest and funniest observations. Refreshments will be provided, and tickets are $10. This show will take place at the WRCT Auditorium, as a part of ARTi Gras.
WRCT Improv Night – 7:00 p.m.
“Audience participation and general zaniness make this show a laugh a minute” — Tickets are $5, and drinks will be made available for purchase. This show takes place at the WRCT Auditorium as a part of ARTi Gras.

Poetry Slam – 11: 00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Sponsored by the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets and Home Brew Press, Wisconsin poet Bruce Dethlefsen returns to Wisconsin Rapids. New Orleans style coffee and beignets will be served. A poetry competition will be held, and cash prizes will be given out. Tickets are $5. This event will be held in the WRCT Studio Theater as a part of ARTi Gras weekend.
Guitar Stylings of Tom Metcalf – 1:30 p.m.
Join Tom for an afternoon of mellow guitar strumming. Coffee and cookies offered. This event is free, and will take place at Nekoosa Retirement Community located at 145 Cedar. St. in Nekoosa.
“The Gin Game” – 2:00 p.m.
Sponsored by Becker & Kumm, this play is a part of ARTi Gras, and is a 1978 Pulitzer Prize winner. This plays uses a card game as a metaphor of life between two residents in a retirement community. Tickets are $10. This event will be held at the WRCT Auditorium.
Bunraku Puppetry Workshop – 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Flabbergast Theater takes you through the basics of Bunraku Puppetry, a Japanese art. This workshop has limited space, and recommended for ages 12 and older. Tickets are $15. The event is a part of ARTi Gras, and will be held at the WRCT Auditorium.
