WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area and its board of directors held the 4th annual Blue Door Awards on Oct. 5 at the YMCA Camp Alexander for leading donors to the club.
Three awards were presented at this year’s event. Among the recipients for their leadership in supporting the club were:
-Fawn Gottschalk for the Individual Donor Award
-Aspirus Riverview Hospital & Clinics for the Corporation Donor Award
-Central Wisconsin Legacy Foundation for the Foundation Donor Award
“The Boys & Girls Club relies on the support of our donors so we can offer all kids in the Wisconsin Rapids Area the opportunities they deserve,” says Boys & Girls Club Board President, Jill Kurszewski. “We love each and every donor and enjoy thanking them at our annual Blue Door Event. This year we are especially grateful for the support of our three honorees who have been true champions for our Club and the kids we serve.”
Gottschalk’s support has extended from personal experience and event sponsorship to assisting in grant obtainment. Fawn not only sponsored multiple tables at the Toast to Great Futures wine and beer tasting fundraiser event in April, but also assisted the club with a proposal to secure a grant from Ocean Spray in June.
Aspirus Riverview Hospital and Clinics has been instrumental in the club’s future with the commitment to continue to partner on mental and behavioral health initiatives. Additionally, they have been the club’s presenting sponsor for the Toast to Great Futures wine and beer tasting fundraising event for the past two years.
The Central Wisconsin Legacy Foundation received the Foundations Donor Award for leadership and generosity in helping stabilize the club over the past two years. The Legacy Foundation has supported the club through a generous gift to purchase a van to transport members and supplement the ongoing programs the club offers. The Foundation has also provided support during the current project the club is working on with the YMCA.
