WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The 20-8 Riverkings will be hosting rival Dells Ducks this weekend for the first time this season.

After a cancelled flight which left them out of the Boston Showcase, the Riverkings are hungry to get into action, and with some of the league’s top talent, they are looking for a weekend sweep. At 20-8, the Riverkings are in third place in the Premier Midwest West Division, right behind the Minnesota Blue Ox, and first place Minnesota Moose.

This year, Adam Peterson is leading the charge, as he is tied for game-winning goals for the USPHL, and leads the team in points with 34. Not far behind is Austyn Quarters, who leads the team in assists with 26, and veteran Ryan Mantz, who holds a top-3 spot in points for the team with 32.

Large contributors to the Riverkings solid showing so far have to be some of the new names taking the ice this year, with Alexander Mavrogaiannis racking up 31 points this season, with Brett DeLatt and Jacob Gaydos staying consistent in the points category. Goalies Parker Rutherford and Domenic Paciocco have been superb in net this year, with Paciocco slapping away 107 of 118 shots on goal and a shut-out, and Rutherford pulling in similar efforts with 128 shots saved out of 138, and three shut-outs.

Winning eight out of their last 10 games, you can catch the Riverkings in action this weekend, as they take on the Dells Ducks at the South Wood County Recreation Center, 2711 16th St. South on Friday and Saturday nights. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m. both nights.
