WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Here is a rundown of notable items from this Tuesday’s common council meeting.

Bid Accepted for West Side Pumping Station Replacement

City officials approved a bid from Miron Construction Co. out of Neenah for construction of a new west side pumping station in the amount of $2,508,752. According to the Paul Dreis of Strand Associates, “Based on our precious experience with this contractor, we have found Miron Construction Co. Inc. to be responsible.”

Bid Accepted for Force Main Replacement

The city also accepted a bid from A-1 Excavating Inc. out of Bloomer for construction on a new force main in the amount of $3,996,882. Recommended by Strand Associates, the project is contingent upon receiving funds from the state’s Clean Water Fund Loan to help foot the overall bill.

City Appoints New Human Resources Director

Dawn Urban has been appointed to the position of the city’s new Human Resources Director. The position has been open for application since August.

New Taxicab Parking Spot Announced

The city approved moving a space where city cabs are allowed to park. Once Second Ave. South, parking will instead now be allowed for cab drivers in the area of First St. South.
