WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings skated to a 7-1 victory Tuesday afternoon over the Dells Ducks.

Opening the scoring for the Riverkings in the first period was Adam Peterson, who lit the lamp off of feeds from Alexander Mavrogiannis and Austyn Quarters. A little over four minutes later, and the Riverkings on the power-play, Jacob Gaydos found the back of the net to make it 2-0; Brett Delaat and Brooks Hatfield picked up the assists.

The second period saw the Riverkings jump to a 3-0 lead as Cole Creger scored short handed on a 2-1 rush with Matyas Kacirek and Tom McManus  picking up the helpers. Dells would respond to make it 3-1, but it was McManus putting the Riverkings up 4-1 heading in the 3rd period as Kacirek and Ryan Mantz contributed with the assists.

Early in the third period Richard Young made it 5-1 Riverkings, with Jesse Edwards and Kyle McCauley getting on the score sheet as well. The Riverkings would add two more Power-Play goals to end the day making it 7-1. Quarters and Hatfield picked up the goals.

Overall 14 Riverking skaters picked up points in the contest. Goaltender Eric Schuette recorded 20 saves and picked up the win in between the pipes. The Riverkings special teams went 3-8 on the Power-Play and went a perfect 3-3 on the Penalty-Kill.

The Riverkings return to action this Friday and Saturday as they take on the Minnesota Blue Ox at the Southwood County Recreation Center. Puck drop for both games is slated for 7:30 PM.
