June R. Petruska, 79, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.

She was born on May 30, 1938, in the Portage County town of Grant, to the late Lester and Mildred (Fors) Wissbroecker, and she was a graduate of Lincoln High School. On March 19, 1960, her marriage to Joseph Petruska, Jr. took place at Calvary Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids.

Prior to her marriage, June had worked for Dr. Raabe’s eye clinic, then worked for Judge’s Cleaners and later retired from MSC as a parts clerk. Her interests included flowers, gardening, animals, sewing and crafts. She spent many years serving the children of Calvary Baptist Church in the nursery.

June is survived by her husband, Joseph Petruska, Jr. of Wisconsin Rapids; daughter, MarLonna Petruska of Coloma; son, Wayne Petruska of Wisconsin Rapids; daughter, Pam Petruska of Wisconsin Rapids; son, Gary (Shirley) Petruska of Waupaca; grandchildren, Jason, Tyece, Ashley, Nicole, Sawyer, Brody and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Sawyre, Madison, Myles, Noella, Ezra, Liem, TJ, Sam, Ethan and Alaina.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her brother, Lester Wissbroecker, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in June’s name for the Calvary Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids with Pastor Jack Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home and again at the church on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

The Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family. For online condolences, please visit www.taylorfuneralhome.net.
