MADISON — One of Wisconsin Rapids’ brightest placed first in a state gymnast competition last week.

Arianna Ostrum participated in the United States of America Gymnasts state meet in Madison, and the 10-year-old placed first at a level eight. Ostrum placed first on her floor, beam and vault routines and took first place all around.

Ostrum, who trains at Russell Gymnastics in Stevens Point, took first place out of 128 girls at level eight. She will join seven other gymnasts that will represent Wisconsin on April 14 in St. Paul, Minn.

“We are so proud of her and her commitment to the sport!” said Mother Ashley Ostrum.
