Weekly Police Blotter: August 7-13, 2018

August 8
Neighbor wars
At 7:45 p.m., a 77-year-old man called police upset about his neighbor’s cats being in his yard. He stated he was going to shoot them. The man called back a short time later stating that the neighbor came over and stated she was going to blow his house up with him inside. Police warned both parties for their behavior.
August 11
Migraine relief
At 12:10 a.m., police were notified of a woman sitting in a car with windows up. The caller attempted tapping on the windows, but the woman inside didn’t wake up. Police arrived on scene and the 51-year-old woman was coherent and awake, and stated she had a migraine and had just come outside to rest and get some fresh air.
August 12
Man tries to steal purse
At 3:26 a.m., a 35-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman called police to report that while in a parking lot a man came up to her car aggressively and tried to reach in her window and grab her purse. When the man noticed a male in the vehicle as well, he took off. Police were able to locate the 43-year-old man and sent him on his way home.
This is your brain on drugs
At 6:47 p.m., a security officer called police to report a woman was found in an emergency room parking lot crying, wobbling, and incoherent. She had apparently taken some sort of illegal substance. The woman was taken into custody.
Window jumpers
At 6:54 p.m., a 57-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman called to report that she had witnessed two men and a woman jump out of a hotel window. The hotel staff was unaware of this disturbance. Police arrived and seen that a window had been knocked out. Police believe this is related to a prior report of a phone being stolen and taken to this hotel. The stolen phone was eventually returned to its owner.
August 13
Garage break-in
At 1:53 a.m., a 60-year-old woman reported that she had seen her garage door going up and down, and had seen someone in her yard with a cell phone light. The person did take off and the woman did not get a good look or description of the person. Police checked the area and did not find anyone or anything suspicious.
