Violet B. Casper, age 91, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Our House Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Jack Austin will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service on Monday at the church. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.

Violet was born on September 5, 1927 in Wisconsin Rapids to Edwin and Esther (Ost) Kanlstedt. She married James Casper on October 11, 1947. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage; he passed away in 2012.

Violet was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a strong person and always put her family first. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and always felt the need to take care of them, even as they got older.  She enjoyed cooking, canning and baking and was known for her angel food cake, popcorn and rosettes.

Violet and her husband loved Christmas togethers and decorating their house for the holidays. They were known to have the best decortications and their house even made the newspaper. During the summer they would sit on the porch for hours and watch the cars go by. Violet liked to go fishing with her husband; but mostly just liked to watch him catch the fish.  She also enjoyed taking long drives with her husband to King Veterans Home to see her father-in-law.

Violet is survived by one son, Robert Casper of Verona; two daughters: Carol (John) Armagost of Wisconsin Rapids and Mary Allen of Marshfield; grandchildren: Dale (Jun) Casper, Vicki (CJ) LaFond, Samatha (Mitchell) Anderson, Heather Heiser, Kevin Armagost, Kyle Armagost, Jerryd Armagost, David Merrifield, Scott Johnson, Kayla (Luke) Keuffer, Karina (Jeremy) Cross, and Colton Allen; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Evelyn Mackaben of Warsaw, IN and Eleanore Piper of Wisconsin Rapids. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; granddaughter, Nikki Lynn; and brother, Ernest Karlstedt.

The family would like to thank Tammy and the staff at Our House Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for their exceptional comfort and care that was provided.
