Ione Davis

Ione M. Davis, age 91, of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at The Waterford Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids.

Funeral services for Ione will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Stephen Steinmetz will officiate the service. The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday morning at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa, Wisconsin.

Ione was born on July 19, 1927 in the Town of Saratoga, Wisconsin to the late Anton and Geneva (Lovelace) Hofmeister. She was employed over ten years at Dana Corp in Rockford, Illinois. She was married to William B. Davis and he preceded her in death on June 18, 2016.

Ione enjoyed traveling the country to visit her family, including trips to California, Las Vegas and Kansas. She spent a lot of her time as a homemaker and was a wonderful cook, known for her soups and stews.

Ione is survived by a very special cousin, Linda Randrup, her nieces Echo (Thomas) Gwynn of Minneapolis, MN, Charmaine (Russell) Hendon of Santa Rosa, CA, Kathy (Darrel) Hardy of Necedah, WI, Cyndi (Ron) Nix of New Lisbon, WI, Melody Roberts of Hutchinson, KS, Penny Rosen of Hutchinson, KS and step-son Myron (Beth) Davis.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Clifford (Lila) Hofmeister, Winton Hofmeister, Ray (Dolly) Hofmeister and Leo (Jacqueline) Hofmeister, her stillborn daughter Sandra Popp and son Terry Popp. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog Duchess.

Ione’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of The Waterford and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care given to Ione.
