November 20
Anxious man leaves before buying gun
At 2:51 p.m.; a Wisconsin Rapids man called to report that a man had come in earlier to purchase three guns. While running a background check the man became very antsy and left the store.
November 23
Man just needed a little rest
At 6:32 a.m., a Wisconsin Rapids man reported that there was a man passed out in front of his house. Police arrived and found a 53-year-old man. They woke him up and sent him on his way.
November 24
Home vandalized
At 4:02 a.m., a man called to report his house was broken into. The back window was smashed open. Police arrived and found no one inside the home. Investigation is ongoing.
Woman won’t leave bathroom
At 5:59 p.m., an employee of a Wisconsin Rapids bar called asking police to check on a woman who had been in the bathroom for over 45 minutes. The woman inside the bathroom was reportedly highly intoxicated. The employee had been checking in on the woman asking her if she was okay, and the woman would say she would be right out but never came out. Police arrived and arranged for a friend to take the woman home.
Burglary caught on camera
At 8:50 p.m., a woman called to report that she had seen video surveillance of someone throwing a cinder block through the window of her office at around 8 p.m. The woman did not believe the person was still there.
November 25
Woman reports possible prowler
At 6:39 p.m., a 39-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman reported that she thinks someone may be in her camper in her yard. She saw a possible flicker of a light through the window. Extra patrol was requested for the area.
Gift card scam busted
At 7:19 p.m., a department store employee called to report that two men had attempted to return a couple of bottles of Nyquil for gift cards. The employee however, was able to find footage of one of the men stealing the medicine that they attempted to return. The men stated they would come back for the gift card. Upon return, one of the men was issued a citation.
