Aspirus to open new emergency department

For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids will host a grand opening for their new 17,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art emergency department on Feb. 26.
The department will include 16 rooms – including 12 exam rooms, two trauma rooms, and two cardiac rooms. It also features its own CT suite and imaging suite, ensuring the services are immediately available to emergency patients.
The new Aspirus Riverview emergency department will feature “immediate bedding”- the latest model for providing patients with the most efficient, private, and comfortable care possible. Patients will be greeted upon arrival by an EMT or paramedic, who will immediately take them to a treatment room for bedside triage and registration.
“Aspirus Riverview is very pleased to provide our community with this state-of-the-art emergency department,” said Todd Burch, Aspirus Riverview CEO. “Our brand new facility includes the very best equipment, technology and patient comfort features available, enabling our outstanding staff to care for our patients as efficiently and compassionately as possible.”
The new emergency department will open for patient care on March 4. Until then, patients will continue to be treated in the current ER.
The grand opening will be held Feb. 26, with self-guided tours 4-6 p.m. and a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. Attendees may use Lot 4, on the north side of Dewey Street across from the hospital.
