Community Choir to host 15th anniversary concert

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Area Community Choir will hold its 15th Anniversary Concert at First Congregational Church, 311 Second St. South, Wisconsin Rapids, May 5 at 3 p.m.
The Community Choir with 10 members, but on May 5, 40 singers will share the choir’s top 10 favorite songs over the years. Cyd Cooper will conduct, and Mary Englert is the accompanist.
Over the years, 111 singers have performed 186 choral pieces in great variety, from sacred and festive to popular, Broadway, and fan favorites. Concert favorites include: “Edelweiss” and “Climb Every Mountain” from the Sound of Music, “Bridge Over Troubled Water,”“What a Wonderful World,” and a Pete Seeger tribute including “If I Had a Hammer,” “Where Have all The Flowers Gone,” and “We Shall Overcome.”
The concert will feature nine soloists, eight readers, 40 singers, and three guest conductors – Bonnie Wheeler, Vicky Dresser, and Jan Dykstra. Participants are from Wisconsin Rapids, Nekoosa, Port Edwards, Rome, Port Edwards, Rudolph, and Vesper, making it a true Wisconsin Rapids Area Community Choir.
