Nekoosa loses bid for sectional title

NEKOOSA – The Lady Papermakers lost their bid for a sectional softball title after falling to the Oconto Blue Devils in Division 3 competition, in Nekoosa on May 28.

The Papermakers held a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth, until Oconto answered with four more runs in the top of the sixth. The Blue Devils continued to hold the lead, adding one more run in the seventh, finishing the game on top 6-4.

Amanda Schaefbauer had two hits and drove in three runs for Nekoosa.
