Rangers go 1-1 with Appleton

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Post 9 Rangers 18U team went 1-1 in a doubleheader against Appleton on June 29 at Witter Field
Both teams were strong on the mound, but the Rangers defeated Appleton 3-1, as the Ranger pitchers allowed just six hits to Appleton.
Tyler Beyer was on the mound for Post 9. He lasted six innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out one.
TJ Van Eperen led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Appleton. He surrendered three runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out five and walking one.
Caleb Krommenakker led the Rangers batting, with two hits in three at bats. Aaron Reiland went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Appleton in hits.
In game two, the Rangers scored three runs in the seventh inning. The offensive firepower by Post 9 was led by Matt Swisher and Gabe Zwicke, all driving in runs in the frame.

Appleton scored five runs in the seventh inning. Appleton offense in the inning was led by Zach Weisgerber, Brennan Chynoweth, Wes Sommers, Aaron Reiland, and Carson Kolby, all driving in runs.
Will Monroe got the start pitching for Appleton. He lasted four and a third innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out six.
Nathan Krommenakker led things off on the hill for Post 9. He went five innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out four. Joshua Schwalbach and Caleb Krommenakker entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and one inning, respectively.

The Post 9 Rangers racked up seven hits on the day. Appleton collected nine hits.
