Rapids wrestlers beat Marshfield

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The reigning Wisconsin Valley Conference Champion Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School wrestling team beat Marshfield 46-23 in a dual meet at home on Dec. 12.
Marshfield got out to an early lead, as Hoyt Blaskowski (132 pounds) won 6-2, Gabe Pugh (138) won by a 12-4 major decision and Ryan Dolezal (145) won by a 17-5 major decision to put the Tigers ahead 11-0.
However, Zac Hamel (152 pounds) won 5-4, Wyler Lubeck (160) won by technical fall 24-9 in 5:28, Peter Rucker (170) won 9-7, Leo Brostowitz (182) won by pin in 1:57, Andrew Schultz (195) won by pin in four seconds, Josh Hansen (220) won by forfeit, Sam Scheidegger (285) won by forfeit, Lucas Bean (106) won by forfeit, Preston Spray (113) won by technical fall 20-4 in 3:00 to give Rapids a 46-11 lead.
Shane Westerhausen (120) won by pin in 5:23 and Keagan Cliver (126) won by pin in 3:01 to close out the dual meet for Marshfield.
