Nekoosa girls victorious in Mauston

MAUSTON – On Feb. 8, the Nekoosa girls basketball team traveled down to Mauston to play a rescheduled game.

Nekoosa quickly jumped out to a 15-0 lead to start the game. They were ahead 31-7 at halftime, led by Izzy Escamilla, who scored 15 of her 17 in the first half, and Allyson Elk who scored nine of her 14 points before the half.

The girls continued to execute on both ends of the floor during the second half and outscored Mauston 33-9, to finish with a 64-16 victory. Nekoosa shot 55 percent from the field and only had 11 turnovers.

Next up for Nekoosa is Iola Scandinavia on Feb.  10 at home.
