Rapids boys fall to Everest

WAUSAU – D.C. Everest boys basketball hosted Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln on Feb. 18 where they totaled 16 3-point goals in their win against Rapids.
The Evergreens commanded the first half of the game and led Lincoln 48-28 at halftime. The second half was a scoring frenzy for D.C. Everest where they hit nine of 16 3-pointers and outscored Rapids, 50-25, to win the game 98-53.
Alec Stuedeman, Keaton Edwards, and Logan Ebersold each had four 3-pointers for the Evergreens. Stuedeman put up a total of 22 points, Edwards added 18, Bryan Halamback scored 15, and Ebersold had 14.
Leading Wisconsin Rapids was Grant Flory, with 32 points – over half of the total points for the team.
D.C. Everest moved to 9-2 and sat at the top of the Wisconsin Valley Conference, and 14-5 overall. They will travel to Merrill on Feb. 21 and then will host Newman Catholic on Feb. 24.
Wisconsin Rapids fell to 3-7 in the conference and 8-12 overall. They will host Wausau East on Feb. 21 and then travel to Wausau to play West on Feb. 27.
