Wisconsin Rapids boxers win in Iowa

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Three Wisconsin Rapids boxers traveled to Davenport, IA, for the Stunning’s Takeover on March 8.

Evan Stenerson defeated Michael Edwards, of Alley Cats Boxing, in a three-round unanimous-decision in the 16-year-old 142 pound class.

Kaylee Warnyke defeated Nina Warrens, of Iowa City, in a split decision in the female 17-year-old 125 pound class.

Michael Skytland lost a very close 3-2 split decision to Johnny Acosta, of Cedar Rapids, in the 15-year-old 135 pound class.

The Wisconsin Rapids boxing team will be in Madison for a Golden Gloves tournament on March 14 followed by a March 21 tournament in Iowa.
