On a roll: Riverkings complete three-game sweep

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings completed a three-game weekend winning at home on Feb. 14 to make their record 33-4-1-1.
On Feb. 12, the “Kings of the River” headed to Owatonna Minnesota taking on a tough Steele County Blades team with important points for both teams in the standings.
The final score of the first game was a 6-4 win. Trey Zagrzebski had two goals and two assists; Cole Creger, Nathan Bottles, and Luke Hartge each had at least a goal and an assist. Goalie Kyle McNair picked up the win for the Riverkings
Captain Jordan Stear broke the franchise’s all-time assist record with his 113th assist, The previous record was set by former Riverking Ryan Mantz with 112.
The Riverkings won the second game on Feb. 13, beating the Steel County Blades 5-1. Reece McDonald had two shorthanded points with a goal and a assist. Nathan Bottles and Cole Creger had a goal and an assist each, and Luke Hartge has two assists.
Sander Willard had the game winner, and Yanni Tsouroullis picked up a short-handed goal.
Riley Allen had a strong game in net stopping 21 of 22 shots, for his 12th win on the season.
On Feb. 14, the team returned home versus the Rochester Vipers and won 13-0.
Goals were scored by Luke Hartge; Sander Willard, 3; Nathan Bottles, 4; Trey Zagrzebski, 3; Jacob Jakusz; and Cole Creger.
The team had assists from Bottles, Grant Newcomer, Logan Radtke, Hartge, Willard, Jordan Stear, Trenton Skaggs, Joseph Blair, Creger, Jakusz, and Yanni Tsouroullis.
Kyle McNair picked up the shutout in net.
