WISCONSIN RAPIDS – A Wisconsin Rapids man is dead after being hit by a train on April 12.

“On April 12, 2021, at approximately 4 p.m., the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was dispatched to Chase Street and Riverview Expressway for a report of a train vs. pedestrian incident. The incident was reported that a pedestrian had walked into a train,” a police department release stated.

“Upon investigation, WRPD found a male who was deceased at the scene.”

Assisting at the scene was Wisconsin Rapids EMS, Wood County Coroner’s Office, and the Canadian National Railroad.

An investigation is being conducted by Canadian National Railroad Police.
