WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Educators Rising and FCCLA will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on July 9, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.at Lincoln High School, 180 16th Street South, in the Green Room.

Those who come to give blood, platelets, or plasma will receive a $10 Amazon.com gift card via email in addition to receiving automatic entry for a chance to win gas for a year.

“Educators Rising and FCCLA is committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations,” said Samantha Schaefer, student blood drive organizer. “This blood drive is our way of giving students, staff, and community members an opportunity to help save lives.”

Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors.

With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross.  Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative, and B negative.

Educators Rising and FCCLA are Career and Technical Student Organizations offered at Lincoln High School. Educators Rising inspires students to pursue a career in education and FCCLA inspires students in Family and Consumer Sciences to pursue careers that support families.
