Aqua Skiers to kick off 2022 season

For the City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Aqua Skiers Show Team is preparing to kick off their 2022 season on Jan. 23.
The team will be hosting their first indoor land practice on at St. Luke’s Church in Wisconsin Rapids, 1-3 p.m. During indoor land practice the team will be working together to teach and practice climbing pyramids, strap doubles, trios, conventional doubles, and learning new dances.
This year, the team is focusing on recruitment and encourages anyone with an interest in waterskiing, driving boat, and announcing to consider joining the team. No experience is needed and all ages and skill levels are welcome.
“The team has certified water ski teachers and well-seasoned veterans to help new members learn new skills. Show director, Tricia Klein started water skiing on the team with her family when she was a child and is excited to share this experience and make new life long memories with her husband and daughter on the team,” a team release stated.
“My advice to anyone thinking about joining the team is to just do it, you will not regret it. Throughout my years on the team I have made so many lifelong friends and made great memories,” Klein added.
“Each year, the show director and show committee come up with a theme for the one hour weekly shows the team puts on for the community and state performance. The theme for the 2022 season is based off of the popular Disney movie, ‘Inside Out,’” the release added.
“This year’s theme is very family orientated and the team is hoping to gain new families to help with the performance.”
