PORT EDWARDS – A Focal Point Camera Club of Central Wisconsin exhibit will open at the Alexander House in Port Edwards on April 8.
“The Focal Point Camera Club is made up of a group of 50 photographers who meet to share and enhance their photography skills. Members consist of area professionals, advanced amateurs and those just beginning their journey into photography even if your only camera is a Smart Phone. Our members photograph a wide range of subjects including nature, birds and animals, scenics, macro, portraiture, sports and much more. There is something for everyone in this club. We are a proud member club of the Photographic Society of America and the Wisconsin Area Camera Clubs Organization. Go to (focalpointcamerclub.org) for more information on this. The meetings are held at the Junction City Park Lodge Building located at the north end of the village park,” an exhibit release stated.
“The Focal Point Camera Club meets twice a month on the second Tuesday and the fourth Thursday year-round. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. and go to about 9 p.m. New members are always welcome and may attend two meetings at no charge to see if we are what you are looking for in a club.
“In addition to our club, we are partners with In Focus Camera Club of Wausau and Mid-Wisconsin Photo Group of Waupaca. Along with FPCC these 3 clubs make up the Central Wisconsin Camera Club Alliance or the CWCCA. Each monthly FPCC Tuesday meeting is a program, critique session or contest. Months without a contest or Critique, have a themed Photo Challenge. Each Monthly FPCC Thursday meeting is more of a hands-on meeting and may consist of an outing or an in-depth program on software or equipment.
“Each month offers a program or critique session and we hold one inter club contest each year. The programs are always unique, interesting, entertaining and educational. Throughout the year, members may get together informally for field trips. This is a great way to learn from each other first hand as well as get to know your fellow club members.
An opening reception will take place on April 8, 5-8 p.m. The artists will be present and refreshments will be served. The exhibit will continue through May 17.
