Ruth Jaeger
Ruth C. Jaeger, 92, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at The Bridges of Appleton in Appleton, WI.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Dr. Carlton Andersen will officiate. Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held beginning at 9:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service on Saturday at the funeral home. Ruth was born August 5, 1926 in Vesper, WI to Benjamin and Wiljemina (Dorst) Back. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sigel, WI. Her early childhood was spent in the Vesper area. Ruth attended Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids. She married William Jaeger on August 13, 1944. They farmed the family farm in Sigel. Ruth continued to attend St. John’s Lutheran Church and served as a Sunday School teacher, as a member of the Ladies Aid, and sang in the choir. Ruth and William were blessed with nearly 62 years of loving memories together, until his death on February 28, 2006. She worked in the salad department at the Mead Inn. She later became a nurse’s aide at the Heritage Nursing Home until her retirement. Ruth enjoyed creating crafts, especially working with plastic canvas and making baby quilts for her great-grandchildren. She and Bill spent many summers at their camper on Madeline Lake in Woodruff, WI.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Rick) Jones; her grandchildren: Brian (Alisa) Irwin, Greg (Amy) Irwin, Todd (Jennifer) Jaeger, Shawn Elmer, Misty (Dustin) Atwood, and Amber Tuskowski; she is further survived by 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth is preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Kimmons; her son, Randall Jaeger; her great-granddaughter, Sarah Jaeger; and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
