Rapids grocery store to close

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – A discount grocery store in Wisconsin Rapids is closing its doors next month. Rapids Discount Grocery and More, located on Pepper Avenue, will close on March 1.
Citing a lack of support from the community, a Discount Grocery Facebook post stated “After considering all avenues and options we have made the tough decision to close our doors March 1st. Unfortunately the community wasn’t behind this type of grocery savings in this area. We are contemplating relocating to a nearby city if we can find a decent area to operate in and be embraced by the locals who enjoy shopping and saving money.”
The post also mentioned they could reopen the store in another location such as Plover or Stevens Point.
Until the closing, all items in the store will be discounted 20 percent.
