MADISON – Madelyn Hepp, of the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools, is the recipient of the $3,000 student scholarship, sponsored by the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) Foundation and BMO Harris Bank.
Hepp plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison this fall to study political science on the pre-law track with the goal of pursuing a career in law.
During high school, Hepp participated in many academic and athletic organizations such as mock trial, volleyball, soccer, student council, DECA, and National Honor Society. This past school year, she served as the student council president and school board representative.
“Pursuing many courses and organizations in high school centered around the law and government has broadened my understanding of the topic and increased my passion for this subject,” Hepp said. “I am choosing to pursue the law because of a deep desire to help those in need and actively participate in our government.”
This scholarship carries with it a $3,000 award to provide financial assistance to a graduating high school senior attending an accredited college or university. The scholarship is sponsored by the WASBO Foundation and BMO Harris Bank. Hepp was awarded her scholarship certificate in conjunction with her district’s award recognition. WASBO encourages districts to share this news on social media and to local news outlets.
WASBO provides professional development for school business staff, fosters a network of support, and advocates for funding that ensures outstanding educational opportunities for all children in Wisconsin.
