Judy A. Gause, age 68, of the Town of Rome, Adams County, WI passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in the Town of Rome.

Funeral Services were 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Nekoosa, WI. Rev. Bill Fisher officiated. Visitation was at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI from 4:00-7:00 PM Monday and Tuesday at the Church from 10:00-11:00 PM. Burial will be at the New Rome Cemetery, Town of Rome, WI.

Judy was born December 31, 1946 in Millersburg, Ohio to Harold and Helen Hoffman. She married Robert W. Gause on September 17, 1966 in Battle Creek, Michigan and they were blessed with 49 years of marriage. Judy was a reading recovery specialist for the Wisconsin Rapids School District for many years retiring in 1999.

Judy (alias GG – Grandma Gause) lived for her 9 grandchildren. They were the light of her life. She had a way of making each individual feel like they were her favorite. Each time she spent time with a grandchild, she wrote about the experience in their individual journal to be given to them when they reached the age of 18.

Judy’s life revolved around spending time with her family, attending every soccer, baseball, hockey, volleyball, cross country, track, or family event that she could. She made time for sailing, biking, kayaking, cross country skiing, running and other activities. She and Bob were lucky enough to travel the world to Europe, Asia, South America, “Down Under” and sailing the Caribbean with friends.

Judy is survived by her husband Robert: three children, Stephanie (Todd) Twombly of Appleton, WI, Jonathan (Jennifer) Gause of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and David (Rachel) Gause of Appleton, WI; nine grandchildren, Teagan, Elsi, Kale, Joshua, Lucas, Carsen, Kellen, Leah and Ethan; and one sister, Connie Gray of Tallmadge, OH.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to the Wisconsin Rapids Public School District to purchase books for future readers for various programs that were a large part of Judy’s teaching life. Checks may be made out to “Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools”.

“Judy was a friend to everyone, always thinking of others and seldom about herself. She will be missed by anyone who has been lucky enough to know her.”
