Woman Faces Charges of Spitting at Corrections Officer

A 21-year-old woman faces charges of expelling a bodily substance after police say she spit in the face of a corrections officer.
Lilyana Gonzalez, of Wisconsin Rapids, is charged with throwing or expelling bodily substances. According to police reports on Apr. 21, Gonzalez was arrested on an outstanding warrant and taken to Wood County Jail.
Officers noted that while being processed, Gonzalez was swearing and yelling at staff. According to reports, Gonzalez turned her head and spit in the face of a nearby corrections officer.
If convicted, Gonzalez faces up to three years and six months imprisonment and up to $10,000 in fines. Her pre-trial conference is scheduled for Jun. 24. She is currently out on a $2,000 bond.
