Jul. 19 marked the Wisconsin Rapids common council meeting. Here is a rundown of news and notes from what the city approved last night.
A request was approved to for the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre to extend their liquor license and use of the Centralia Center Riverwalk for the 1940’s Canteen Themed Dinner on Aug. 11.
Work was approved on the interior of the Memorial Clock Tower regarding the replacement of landings, stairs and railings. This will be paid for with a grant by the Mead Witter Foundation.
Central Wisconsin BMX was given the green light to build a trophy barn on land leased by the city.
A request was approved to construct additional parking lots in Ben Hansen Park, Lyon Park, and City Hall.
The city approved a sponsorship of a concert for the Wisconsin Rapids City Band. The sponsorship is in the amount of $250.
