WISCONSIN RAPIDS — A 34-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman has been charged with burglary and heroin possession.
According to police reports filed on May 5, on March 4, an officer responded to a burglary complaint in the area of 1st St. North. The complainant informed police that his apartment had been burglarized by a local woman later identified as Heidi Hewuse, who was at his apartment earlier that day.
Reported missing was a television, Playstation games, controllers, and a paintball gun. According to the complainant, he found Hewuse’s phone in the apartment after the burglary, and reviewed messages on her phone potentially implicating her guilt.

Hewuse allegedly admitted that the substances belonged to her, and that she took the items from the complainant’s apartment.
Police eventually found the missing games, controllers, and paintball gun.
If convicted, Hewuse faces up to 16 years imprisonment, and up to $35,000 in fines. Her next court appearance is scheduled for June 5.
