Riverkings’ Defenseman Commits to Manhattanville College
By Joe Bachman
WISCONSIN RAPIDS — A Riverking has announced his commitment to play hockey for Manhattanville College in New York.
Defenseman Jan Senkerik hails from the Czech Republic and joined the Riverkings two years ago from the Hill Academy in Toronto. According to Riverkings Head Coach Marty Quarters, Senkerik has come off a productive year that contributed to the Riverkings’ 2016-17 division championship.
“Jan’s improvement was a direct result of his hard work and buying into the Riverkings culture of pushing yourself to be the best you can be each and everyday,” said Quarters. “Jan worked hard on his game these last two seasons, did things the right way on and off the ice and because of his efforts he earned the opportunity to continue his hockey and studies at the NCAA level”.
Senkerik holds two high school diplomas and speaks five languages, as Manhatanville has offered him his desired degree in International finance. Senkerik was scouted by the Manhattanville College coaching staff in Boston during the USPHL Nationals this last spring.
