WISCONSIN RAPIDS – On Nov. 15, 2017, WFHR AM 1320 will be lending its air waves to United Way of Inner Wisconsin for its 13th Annual Radiothon.  United Way staff and volunteers will be promoting the 2017 Campaign, taking donations and promoting the $1,000 Sweepstakes.  During the Radiothon listeners will have the opportunity to call in and make a pledge; they can also have it announced LIVE on the air!

The Radiothon will take place between the hours of 7AM – 9AM during the Good Morning Show with Carl and James.  Listeners who would like to make a pledge during Radiothon can tune into AM 1320, call 715-424-1300 and speak to a Radiothon operator.  In the past, listeners have challenged others to donate with them; or made donations in the names of their children or grandchildren, or in honor of a birthday!

“Donating to a good cause in lieu of birthday gifts have become a real trend in the past several years,” said Tari Jahns, United Way of Inner Wisconsin CEO.  “Radiothon is a perfect opportunity to do just that and announce it to the whole world.”

WFHR also has a special deal for businesses:  with a minimum pledge of $500 to United Way of Inner Wisconsin (maximum of $1,000) during the Radiothon, WFHR will match each donation in advertising dollars. This is a great opportunity for businesses to promote themselves and support the community.

About the $1,000 Sweepstakes

Anyone who pledges a new undesignated donation of $26 or more to United Way of Inner Wisconsin, or increases their gift over last year’s donation by at least $26 is automatically entered to win one of five $1,000 cash prizes. Donations must be turned into the United Way of Inner Wisconsin office by 4:00pm, Nov. 17, 2017.  Visit www.uwiw.org to read the complete rules and regulations.  This year the sweepstakes is sponsored by Aspirus Riverview Hospital, Heartland Farms, Inc., River Cities Bank and Timber Shores.
