STEVENS POINT — A local dealer could face decades in prison after multiple drug charges were filed against him over the weekend.
Filed on Dec. 7, according to police reports, on June 28, a confidential informant from the Central Wisconsin Drug Task Force arranged to meet with 25-year-old Wisconsin Rapids native Joseph Kleba for a drug purchase. The purchase was for a “teener”, which equated to 1.75 grams of methamphetamine for $120.
After the purchase was made in a Stevens Point business parking lot, the CI handed over two grams of methamphetamine to police. Kleba was identified before and after the sale through a booking photo. Police also found a firearm in Kleba’s possession, which he also faces charges for as a convicted felon.
If convicted, Kleba faces up to 47 years and six months imprisonment for charges of delivering amphetamines, possession with intent to sell, and felony firearm charges. His next court date is set for Jan. 2.
