LHP Kyle Hodgson and RHP Hunter Robichaux are coming to Wisconsin Rapids this summer

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Monday, the Rafters announced the signing of left-handed pitcher Kyle Hodgson from Framingham State and right-handed pitcher Hunter Robichaux from Bucknell University.

Kyle Hodgson

Kyle Hodgson is a 5-foot-7, 175-pound left-handed pitcher from Berkley, Massachusetts. The junior went 5-4 with a 3.46 ERA in 12 appearances including 10 starts and threw five complete games in 75.1 innings pitched for Framingham State in 2018. Hodgson struck out 59 batters. The lefty ended last season with 70 strikeouts to just 16 walks in 75 innings which translates to a 4.4 K/BB ratio and an 8.40 K/9.

Hunter Robichaux

Hunter Robichaux is a 6-foot-4, 165-pound junior at Bucknell University. The Dallas, Texas native threw 19.1 innings across 15 appearances, earned a save and struck out 21 in his 2018 season. As a sophomore, Robichaux appeared in five games and struck out five across 5.2 innings. Robichaux’s freshman year was impressive as he tied for second on the team in appearances (15) and did not allow a run over his last seven appearances. The scoreless streak covered 10 of his 17 innings pitched that year. The right-hander does an excellent job at limiting contact with a .195 batting average against in his collegiate career.

Hodgson, Robichaux and the rest of the 2018 Wisconsin Rapids Rafters will begin their season on the road against the Madison Mallards on Tuesday, May 29. The Home Opener is slated for Friday, June 1st against the Wisconsin Woodchucks. The entire 2018 Rafters schedule is available at www.raftersbaseball.com.
