For the Rapids City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The John E. Alexander South Wood County YMCA and Boys & Girls Club of the Wisconsin Rapids Area invite the community to attend the groundbreaking ceremony on Aug. 29, 10 a.m., at the new site location – the  former Rapids Mall, 555 West Grand Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids.

The organizations will share their plans to build a new facility that will house both organizations and provide synergies, along with numerous opportunities with surrounding service providers. During the ceremony, the community will be able to view renderings of the new facility, which will include spaces for programs designed to address a wide range of community health, wellness, and developmental needs.

The new building will be a platform and vehicle to ensure south Wood County remains a community that is accessible and welcoming to all children, individuals, and families through programs that support their health and well-being.

The YMCA and Boys & Girls Club will continue to provide regular updates to the community through project completion. For additional updates, visit https://app.southwoodymca.org.
