Luck strikes twice in Rome
Badger 5 jackpots won back-to-back
For the Rapids City Times
MADISON – Some may say Pritzl’s is the new lucky store in Wisconsin. Not only did one lucky player match all five numbers in the Badger 5 drawing Sept. 14 to win the night’s $70,000 jackpot, but on Sept. 15, another lucky player matched all five numbers to win the $14,000 jackpot. Both Badger 5 tickets were purchased from Pritzl’s Trading Post.
“I had to look twice to confirm the double win,” said Wisconsin Lottery Director Cindy Polzin. “I congratulate Pritzl’s on their double luck and thank them for being an amazing retail partner with the Wisconsin Lottery.”
Located at 251 State Highway 13 in Rome, Pritzl’s Trading Post is open seven days a week, 365 days a year. Family owned and operated, with a Northwoods hometown look and feel, it offers everything from food and general merchandise to home and garden supplies. Additionally, it is a designated sales location for permits and licenses, such as park passes, hunting licenses, and camping permits.
Badger 5 is a daily lotto game available only in Wisconsin. On average, the Badger 5 jackpot is won over two times per week. Although double wins at the same location are not typical. Last month, the Badger 5 jackpot was hit at Piggly Wiggly on West Oklahoma in Milwaukee on Aug. 9, and again on Aug. 15.
All lottery winners have 180 days from the drawing to claim their prize. A winner at this prize level must redeem their ticket at the Wisconsin Lottery’s Madison or Milwaukee offices or by mail.
