WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Two local firefighters participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb held Sept. 22 at Lambeau Field, Green Bay.

Biron Volunteer Fire Department members David and Danielle Moon walked the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs, to symbolize the number of flights at the World Trade Center, in honor of the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

The Moons joined approximately 2,700 firefighters, EMTs, police officers, and service members in the movement.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the FDNY Counseling Services Unit, as well as programs that support the families of fallen firefighters.
