Everett J. Porter, age 89, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Arborview Court, Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Fr. Dave Bruener will officiate. Visitation will be at St. Lawrence Church on Wednesday from 9:30-11:00 AM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI is assisting the family.

Everett was born December 4, 1928 in Stevens Point, WI to Everett and Ione (Coats) Porter. He married Theresa A. Mansavage on July 20, 1953 in Stevens Point, WI. She preceded him in death on August 23, 2013. Everett was an accounting manager for Wisconsin Gas Company (WE Energies) for 34 years, retiring in February 1991.

Everett served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from February 1951 until February 1953. He enjoyed golf, baseball, basketball, cards, puzzles, dancing and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Everett is survived by his son, Kenneth (Vija Kukainis) Porter of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; two daughters, Mary (Edward) Jung of Vesper, WI and Bernadette (Ronald) Puariea of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; eight grandchildren, Jamie (Toby) Rokus, Nicole Jenkins, Kristin (Jacob) Peterson, Natalie (Dave) Gruentzel, Jonah Jung, Danielle (Tyler Brillowski) Jung, Martin (Kaylyn) Porter and Trina (Derek McIntyre) Porter; and eight great grandchildren, Emma, Grace, Haley, Riley, Fiona, Teja, Paige and Chloe. Everett is also survived by his special friend, Angie Hojnacki.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theresa; brother, Harley Porter; sister, Norma Hintz and grandson, Jeremy.

Memorials can be designated to the Assumption High School Athletic Association.
