Barbara Ann Christianson

Barbara Ann Christianson, age 77, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Marshfield Medical Center surrounded in love by family members. Barb was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and friend who will be missed by many.

A Life Celebration service for Barb will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home. Pastor Dan DeRoche will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and also on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.

Barbara was born September 30, 1941 to Arthur and Ann Johnson in Wisconsin Rapids.  She married Duane Christianson on September 5, 1959 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  Barb was very involved at Crossview Church in Wisconsin Rapids.  She enjoyed being part of the Life after 50 group, Bible Study and welcoming people to church on Sundays.  She also adored being a member of the Red Hatter’s club and TOPS.

Barb enjoyed her weekly card games on Tuesdays with friends, casino trips, gardening, church functions, and especially loved spending time with her grandkids and her feline companion, Buffy.

Barbara is survived by her 3 children: Allen (Jennifer) Christianson of Byron Illinois, David (Staci) Christianson and Holly (Mike) Pierce both of Wisconsin Rapids. Grandchildren: Ashley and Melissa Johnson, Jen (Nick) Henke, Tyler and Hailey Christianson, Hanna and Graci Christianson, Nichole (Paul) Leiser, and Shawn Pierce. She was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Hunter Henke and Eli Leiser.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Duane; daughter, Patty (Ron) Johnson; her parents Artie and Ann Johnson; her brother, Jimmy Johnson and her baby sister, Patty Johnson.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Pastor Dan DeRoche at Crossview Church for his visits with Barb and prayers for her and her family.
