Rapids gymnastics takes fifth in home invitational

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids gymnastics team took fifth in their home invitational, held Jan. 5 at Lincoln High School.

McKenzie Schuld took 11th in all-round competition – placing 11th in vaulting in a four-way tie and uneven bars in a two-way tie, 15th in floor exercise in a three-way tie, and 17th on balance beam.

Tyla Weidman followed Schuld at 12th in all around – taking 16th in vaulting, 19th in uneven bars, 11th in floor exercise in a four-way tie, and 18th on balance beam.

Madisyn Hasenohrl placed 15th in all around – grabbing 19th in vaulting and floor exercise, 25th in uneven bars, and 27th on balance beam.

Also placing in vaulting were Maggie Tapia at 29th and Corryn Tezlaff at 33rd. Bailey Turner snagged 22nd in the uneven bars and Regan Schroeder took 35th. In floor exercise, Olivia Skifton took 27th, while Schroeder placed 34th. Skifton also took 30th on the balance beam, while Tapia placed 21st.

Rapids had a team score of 113.9000 in the tournament. Marshfield took home first with 133.0250.
