Caregiver Turned Caretaker

On Jan. 29 at 12:52 p.m., a Wisconsin Rapids woman called to report that a caregiver had been stealing from her. The woman stated that the caregiver had been taking medicine and money.

February 3, 2019

Road Blockage

On Jan. 3 at 10:53 a.m., an employee at the Wisconsin Rapids Burger King reported that there was a road blockage. The woman stated that the southbound lane of South Eighth Street in Wisconsin Rapids was being blocked by a piece of metal.

Potential Burglary

On Jan. 3 at 11:49 a.m., the commercial burglary alarm of the First Congregational Church in Wisconsin Rapids was set off. The report stated that alarm of the main entrance doorway was set off as well as main entrance motion sensors and that the alarm company was attempting to contact the keyholders.

The Tackle Box Taker

On Feb. 3 at 12:40 p.m., a Wisconsin Rapids woman reported that sometime that night or that morning, a cabinet had been broken into. The woman stated that the tackle box had been stolen but that she did not know by whom.

The Sincere Shoplifter

On Feb. 3 at 12:50 p.m., a Wisconsin Rapids woman turned herself in. The woman stated that over the past 20 years, she had done a lot of shoplifting not just in Wisconsin Rapids, but all over the state.

Fiery furnace forces evacuation

On Feb. 3 at 7:43 p.m., a woman reported that the Four Star Restaurant had been evacuated. The woman stated that there was smoke inside the restaurant, the furnace was making an unusual loud noise, and that it smelled like fire.
