For the Rapids City Times

RHINELANDER – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) North Central Region announced the lifting of springtime posted road weight restrictions on some of the region’s state highways.

Weight restrictions were lifted May 1 on State Highway 54 in Wood County, from the west Wood County line to State Highway 80 and from the south intersection at State Highway 80 to one mile west of the intersection with State Highway 73. The restrictions have also been lifted on State Highway 173, from the north intersection with State Highway 80 to County Highway G.

Class II roadway weight restrictions are still in effect for zone 1 and 2.  Additional information and updates for weight limit restrictions can be found on the WisDOT website: http://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/dmv/com-drv-vehs/mtr-car-trkr/ssnl-wt-rsrctns/class2roads.aspx
