Central Wisconsin BMX to host Badger State Nationals

For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Central Wisconsin BMX will host the Badger State Nationals, July 26-28.
The Badger State Nationals is one of the 30 USA BMX National Series races held across North America.
Organizers say the event could attract “up to 10,000 visitors, with an estimated economic impact of over a half a million dollars.”
BMX riders compete on established dirt tracks against seven other riders, and a typical race last about 50 seconds. Races are organized according to age group and skill levels.
Wisconsin hosted its first National event in Janesville in 1985, but not again until 2010 when Central Wisconsin BMX hosted the Badger State Nationals in Wisconsin Rapids. Since 2010, Central Wisconsin BMX, along with the support of the Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, Sports Commission, and the city of Wisconsin Rapids, has been awarded the Badger State Nationals in 2012, 2014, and again this year.
