LHS baseball grabs post-season recognition

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – In addition to setting a school record with 20 wins and making it to the sectional finals, the Lincoln High School (LHS) baseball team earned some individual and team post-season recognitions.
For the second consecutive year, the baseball team received Team Academic Excellence from the American Baseball Coaches Association, and Tyler Beyer earned All-District All-Academic, based on his GPA.
Earning All-Conference honors were: Donovan Brandl, WVC Player of the Year, First Team Pitcher, and First Team Infield; Josh Zwicke, 1st Team Catcher; Tyler Beyer, Second Team Infield; Nathan Krommenakker, Second Team Outfield; and Erik Steinhilber, Honorable Mention Pitcher.
Receiving All-District recognition were: Donovan Brandl, District II Player of the Year Division One and First Team Utility; Josh Zwicke, Honorable Mention Catcher; Nathan Krommenakker, Honorable Mention Outfield; and Tyler Beyer, All-District All-Academic.
Donovan Brandl also earned All State First Team Utility/DH and WBCA All Star Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. He set a record by striking out 12 batters in four innings.
The team is coached by Bob Gawlitta.
