For the Rapids City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – On Aug. 1, community members donated school supplies to the Stuff the School Bus event during Lunch by the River. Two weeks later these supplies were distributed to students who registered to receive school supplies at Lincoln High School.

During the event 827 school children were served. Of the students served, 98 percent qualified for free or reduced school meals, while 19 were considered homeless.

Stuff the School Bus is a collaborative effort of several local non-profit, government, and school agencies.

If you missed Stuff the Desk and your student needs school supplies, contact your school counselor or social worker.
