Nekoosa competes in Black River Falls invite

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Nekoosa volleyball team competed at the Black River Falls invitational on Aug. 31 in the Black River Falls Field House, where they finished 1-4.
In game one, Nekoosa faced Lacrosse Central and lost 20-25, 14-25. In game two, the team faced Melrose Mindoro, where they lost 16-25, 5-25. In game three Nekoosa fell to Osseo-Fairchild 17-25, 18-25. Nekoosa then faced New Lisbon, where they won 25-22, 24-26, 15-3, before losing to Hillsboro in game five, 18-25, 13-25.
Emma Seipel had 12 kills, while Robin Anderson added 11. Seipel led in assists, with 34.
As a team, Nekoosa had 26 aces, led by Amanda Schaefbauer with 6. Marissa Harnisch led the team in blocks with eight.
