For the City Times

WOOD COUNTY – Through Wood County’s 2019 Wisconsin Deer Donation program, disadvantaged families receive ground venison and hunters help manage Wisconsin’s deer herd by donating harvested deer to a worthwhile cause.

The program is now open for 2019 contributions.

To donate, register and field dress the deer. Then, when dropping your deer off at a processor, please fill out the log sheet indicating your desire to donate the deer.

The donated deer will be processed into hamburger and the venison will be distributed to charitable organizations to help feed Wisconsin families.

Registered participating processors include: J&S processing of Marshfield, Strictly Wild of Wisconsin Rapids, and Pittsville Meats of Pittsville.

For more information, contact Rod Mayer at 715-421-8475.
