Volunteers needed for Adams County Smoke Alarm event

ADAMS COUNTY –Volunteers are needed for the American Red Cross Adams County Smoke Alarm Installation Event.

Volunteers will go door-to-door or respond to a smoke alarm request with a team of volunteers; install free smoke alarms in residential homes; test alarms; educate residents on alarm maintenance; and help create fire escape plans.

The event will take place Nov. 9, 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the Adams County Fire District, 399 E. Ann Street, Adams.

No previous Red Cross experience necessary. Breakfast and lunch are included.

Register by Nov. 8. For more information, call the United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties’ Volunteer Center at 715-421-0390.
